Compatibility with new Apple M1 Chips

Just released the final silicon build: https://github.com/aonez/Keka/releases/tag/v1.2.2

I don't have a DTK nor a M1 Mac yet, but should work as expected :)

Compatibility with new Apple M1 Chips

I'm using Keka on a M1 Macbook Pro; it's running natively with no problems If you're using an M1, the activity monitor will show either Apple or Intel under the architecture column.

markbyrn, thanks a lot for the feedback! So it’s showing Intel for some Keka processes? Which ones?

I was browsing the forums for a question and came across this post, decided to share what I see here with a new Mac mini M1.

Installed Keka 1.2.4, first a list of all the compressing binaries and architecture:

Code: Select all

kekabrotli: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekalbzip2: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekalrzip: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekalzip: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]

kekaplzip: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekatar: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64]
kekaunar: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64]
kekaunrar: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekaxz: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
kekazstd: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64]
And then finally when running a compression (I didn't find a way to upload the image to this forum, just fix the space before .com):
