hidden .Keka-xxxxx-.... folders

Posted: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:10 am

I just wanted to inform You, that I found many hidden folders on my NAS that Keka did not delete after decompess.
I think backup scripts copied them to that location.
Because they are starting with a dot, they are invisible and You do not see them.
CMD+SHIFT+. switches invisible / visible in Finder, so You can look around, what ist there.
In da large file tree it is easier to let the computer search for these files.

You can identify them in Terminal:
goto that volume oder share You wanna scan for hidden Keka-Files
then run:

find . -name ".Keka-*"

To delete these files run:

find . -name ".Keka-*" -exec rm -R {} \;

Be careful with the syntax!
rm -R deletes files recursively!

I found a dozen large folders with 1GB and more each!

Best regards

Sorry for the late reply. This was an issue some time ago. Maybe those folders where old? Let me know if this happens again.
